Piggy bank

The Piggy Bank

The Piggy Bank is a premium mechanic in Egg, Inc.

Function

The Piggy Bank grows by one Golden Egg every time something gets upgraded or purchased, like Research and Habs. You can 'crack' it for $4.99 or £4.99, which will reset the counter to 0 and give you all the Golden Eggs inside the Piggy Bank. Each time it is cracked it gains a bonus, starting at 2% on the first level, 25% on the second level, and .10n+.10 % after that point (e.g. level 6 would have a 70% bonus). It can also gain bonuses by completing contracts, like an extra level, double golden eggs, or simply adding more Golden Eggs. When it gets enough Golden Eggs, it is "full" and cannot grow unless by Daily Gift Calendar or completing certain goals of Contracts. It's often hard to judge when the correct time is to crack the piggy bank, so below are some tips.

Strategy

In order to fill it up quickly, you should prestige often. Make sure to not skip housing or vehicular upgrades; get them all. If you're really extreme, don't skip eggs after late-game prestiges. When to crack it is your choice, but there are two main options.

If you want to spend money to maximize efficiency per buys, Golden Egg}}15-25k is a good rule of thumb, followed by Golden Egg}}35-50k on the 2nd crack.

You need Golden Egg}}1,830,657 to get all Epic Research plus the Hyperloop, but saving that much would require constant prestiging.

If you want to maximize efficiency per money, crack it a lot later (around Golden Egg}}200,000).

Some contracts offer a reward which doubles the golden eggs inside your Piggy Bank at the time you complete a specific goal in the contract. Other contracts will add a level to your Piggy Bank as a reward. Consequently, if you already have all your Epic Research completed, you are better off waiting to crack your Piggy Bank until you run out of Golden Eggs.

Trivia

The piggy bank used to cost $2.99 and £2.99, but it was changed on 14 July 2019 after the $1 piggy sale.
