I would make this private if I could, but I can't.
Today, I have chosen to disablle or close my account. It has been a big quandary for the past two weeks, but this is it. I have realized that what is ostensible is not true, and may remain that way. I have only been contributring to the wiki for two weeks, but it has seemed to me that I can no longer be here. I have had eye strain, there are greater oppurtunities, and I have been in a slump.
There are other aspirants out there that have sinificantly more experience than me like TheSeal27 and https://egg-inc.fandom.com/wiki/User:Hcps-warrenac. Even the messages have been overwhelming. I am not saying you are negative in your post, but I am in a state of lassitude and I am lethargic from all of this work. Even if you read the first two links of TheSeal27's post today, you will understand how experencied, better, and helpful TheSeal27 is.
There is a small(0.000001%) I will edit again as an anonymous user, but my acheivement, not the badges, will be gone.
For me, it is when a huge star can't produce any energy from fusion at its core, and it collapses into a lonely black hole. It is when a person steals someone else's role in a play by showing that they are better than the victim. (And.) It is the final moment when a football team, in the last five seconds of the game, misses a field goal and loses the game. It is not only a feeling of dissapointment, but it is a feeling of surprise. The surprise, of the unknown.
I do wish you good luck on this wiki, because, for you, things will probably go well.
This is my swan song, and it is the unfortunate time that you and I will call the end.
Yeah, I worried you might burn out pretty quickly. You're under no obligation to use your time and energy on a wiki. Nor am I, for that matter. Nobody is paying us.
I guess I'll go ahead and remove the Admin role from you and hope someone else shows up who is interested in editing. I think you're a bit optimistic with how things will go with me. I have other things that occupy my life, and I don't commit myself much to this wiki. I'm just here to make sure the wiki is being watched and to appoint interested editors as admins and make a few edits of my own. I'm far from a dedicated editor.
I gather from context that TheSeal27 does not have a special connection to this wiki. He is more interested in helping out a wide variety of wikis get a jumpstart on how to help themselves. I'm rather confident he won't become a frequent editor here.
I may not end up using all of them, but it's nice to have a sort of "expanded default" set of templates.
I don't know what I'd be using as a formal quote on this wiki, why I'd need a separate header from the built-in one with equals signs (would this new header still make automatic entries in the table of contents for long articles?), and I'm not sure what the calculator module is for. I have better calculators on my phone, computer, and Google, I'm sure.
I understand that since "rollback" is just editing the page back to a previous version that it would be possible for any user to do that and hence possible to do the process with a script, but I don't think I need that. I definitely don't need people accidentally clicking it.
A lot of our staff page consists of comments about past staff history (or individual history of staff members coming and going from the wiki), so I'm not sure that page would work well for us. Although one could argue no one should ever care about that history and so maybe I could just scrap 90% of the page, including listing the inactive or past staff. But then the page would be pretty lonely with just me and 1 other admin (who has only been around for a little while and isn't super experienced with wikis either and so it's conceivable they might leave within several weeks).
Also, I've avoided the word "staff" for the most part because when I think of "wiki staff" I think more of the "Staff" role that actual Fandom staff have. So I definitely do not want a page actually titled "Staff" even if we do decide to improve the Leadership page.
What irony! While I was busy reviewing the past day's wiki edits and then responding here, my active admin actually already quit. I guess my "within several weeks" estimate was much further our than necessary.
So yeah... I definitely don't need a fancy staff page just to list me and say "hey, I'm around even if not editing a ton". The existing page will do.
Hmmm... I guess I'm surprised. I thought you were just dropping by to offer generic templates and some other advice and then moving on. I didn't think I'd see you editing again.
If you want to frequently check the wiki and edit sometimes, that's fine. I don't do much more than that myself most of the time (and there were large periods of time in the past when I didn't even do that). Also, we still have an inactive admin who was appointed at roughly the same time I was in 2016 who was never demoted.
So if you want to be an admin here (is that what you are asking?), I can approve that. You definitely know what you're doing.
Thank you for all the new templates you made. That will make writing contract rewards much easier and cleaner.
I don't see very many Contract edits from you on the recent changes page.
A recent short-term admin who just quit had made that Leggacy contract page you edited, and I was thinking it maybe shouldn't be its own page anyway. Every legacy contract should just be a re-run of an original contract and so the info could go better on the original contracts page.
And if we maintain consistency on the wiki, the page title should start with Contracts/ as well.
I know I haven't been on this wiki since my last month-long stint of activity about a year ago. 24 was doing a pretty good job as admin and then bureaucrat. And in case someone ever does need to reach me as co-bureaucrat or co-admin you can still post here on this page or even reach out to me on Discord. And on that note, I wanted to post that I've changed my Discord name to Dreamprism#2020 (as you can see when hovering over my profile here on Wikia), but it wasn't really worthy of a blog post.
As always, I still play Egg Inc (until the game does something horrible that causes me to quit) and maintain maximum legal Prophecy Eggs and a considerable number of Soul Eggs (but not absolute top tier).
So, I created the Boost_Shop page to provide information on the new feature in v1.10. It may have been premature, as I'm not sure how well it will coexist with the existing Boosts page (which I have made some minor updates to to reflect the changes in v1.10).
Do you think we should just include mention of the Boost Shop on the Boosts page, and migrate all information on the Boost_Shop page into the appropriate places on the Boosts page, then delete the Boost_Shop page?
I thought I had my setting enabled to get e-mail notifications were anyone to message me here, but apparently there was a "disable all e-mails from Fandom (overrides everything else)" setting that was on, so I didn't actually get messages or forum replies I wanted to get by e-mail.
Sorry I haven't been around as much as I wanted.
I think I was listed on the Discord. You could've PM'd me there if you wanted to reach me faster. I'm not sure what step in the process this adoption request is right now, but I'll look into it now that I'm aware.
