An Egg of Prophecy.
Eggs of Prophecy (EoP) are one of two types of Mystical Eggs found in Egg, Inc. They first appeared in Version 1.7, and are often referred to as Prophecy Eggs (PE). They function as an extra multiplier of your current Soul Eggs, increasing their multiplier by 5% per Egg of Prophecy. This bonus can be enhanced through the Prophecy Bonus epic research. Since the bonus from Eggs of Prophecy is compounding, the multiplier bonus grows very quickly.
Eggs of Prophecy appear as a golden egg inscribed hieroglyphics and a golden gem set in the center. The first time an Egg of Prophecy is earned, the following explanation appears:
Obtaining[]
Eggs of Prophecy can be obtained from Contracts, Trophies, Seasonal Rewards, and the Daily Gift Calendar. There are a limited number of Eggs of Prophecy a player can earn - primarily limited by the current number of available contracts.
Most Eggs of Prophecy are earned through contracts - though new contracts significantly reduce the number of PEs released. However, Leggacy contracts - released on Wednesdays and Fridays - allow players to "catch up" on old PE contracts they may have missed. Additionally, with a subscription to Egg, Inc. Ultra, one additional Leggacy contract is released on Friday, further reducing the amount of time required to catch up on old PE contracts. For a list of contracts awarding Eggs of Prophecy, see this category page.
Trophies are the next most common way to earn Eggs of Prophecy. While the first 30 PEs earned through Trophies are relatively easy to attain, the last 10 PEs earned from the Diamon Enlightenment Egg Trophy can be very difficult to earn. One PE can be earned per month - up to a max of 24 - through the Daily Gift Calendar.
Seasonal rewards were introduced as a way to earn new Eggs of Prophecy as new contracts greatly reduced the number of available PEs.
Contracts | Trophies | Daily Gift Calendar | Seasons | Total | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Current number available | 163 | 40 | 24 | 2 | 229** |
When are new eggs released | Whenever Kevhen decides | Never | Never | Once per Season* (4 per year) |
*The exact day a Season starts is usually on the first Monday after the relevant solstice or equinox, measured in the Pacific Time Zone.
**The in-game screen showing the total available EoP is often incorrect, or off by one. It is speculated that it needs to be manually updated by the developer each time a new EoP is released.
Compounding[]
Unlike Soul Eggs that add their bonuses, Eggs of Prophecy multiply their bonuses. This means that a relatively small number of PEs can greatly increase the Soul Eggs Earnings Bonus.
You can calculate the bonus earned from Eggs of Prophecy using the following formula: ((105 + Prophecy Bonus)/100)^(Number of Prophecy) Eggs
. As you can see from the below chart, a small number of PE can greatly increase your Earnings Bonus.

Trivia[]
- If Prophecy Bonus is upgraded before obtaining any Prophecy Eggs, the popup explaining Prophecy Eggs will show the increased bonus instead of the base.
- Prophecy Bonus is the most expensive first Epic upgrade, as it costs
100,000, which is equal to both buying the Hyperloop Station and upgrading the Fuel Tank. This means that until your number of Prophecy Eggs is very large, you are usually better off with Soul Food, then Epic Comfy Nests, then Prophecy Bonus, in that order.
- With Artifacts, the compounding bonus from Prophecy Eggs can reach up to 12.85% percent. With Enlightenment overclocking, the bonus can reach 13.45%.
